David C. Young :: Managing Director
David Young is a professional Landscape Architect with over 30 years of experience. In 1976, he established his own firm, Young Associates, in Greene, NY where he has since provided professional consulting services. David was one of the first developers and users of computer aided photo-realistic simulations. His understanding of the importance of computers has provided him with opportunities to teach simulation techniques and to provide highly accurate and realistic simulations. His work is published in The New Communications Technologies, 2nd Ed. by Michael M.A. Mirabito, Focal Press.
David is a graduate of Syracuse University and the School of Landscape Architecture at SUNY - ESF. He was a Drill Instructor in the United States Army Reserve, which required his qualifying as a military instructor. His primary duties included company leadership responsibilities and combat engineer training. His professional career began as a technician for the New York State Department of Transportation. He then gained valuable experience in master planning and site design through his association with firms in Atlanta, Georgia, Raleigh, North Carolina, and Syracuse, New York. He has gained registration as a Landscape Architect in New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Tennessee with current licenses in New York and Pennsylvania.
Throughout his career, David has combined project management experience, and an ability to work with diverse situations and clients, to undertake complex and innovative projects. He currently offers clients, including engineers, architects, municipalities, institutions, and attorneys, consulting services for project management, site design, zoning, and visual impact assessment review.
